Family Background: Kos doesn’t know his family – he was given to the Dragon Temple as soon as he was weened. He is the third child in his family – all third children are, by custom, given to the Temple.

Religion: Kos is a Dragon Monk, and therefore worships The One God, through his servant, The Dragon.

Parents: Kos’s parents, though he doesn’t know them, live in the city on Kavasatra, the island nation where Kos grew up. His father is a baker and his mother is a dyer.

Siblings: Kos has an older brother and sister, the former apprenticed to a blacksmith, and the latter is a teacher.

Neighborhoods: Kos has lived in the Dragon Temple his whole life, a bustling village in its own right. The Temple takes care of most of its own needs by farming the land owned by the Dragon Monks’ order. When Kos visits the city, he spends most of his time in the market square purchasing supplies for the monastery and in the lower temple, where regular religious services are held in the city (and where children are taught throughout the week).

Income: Kos has never earned a single penny in his lifetime. Later, after the first battle with the Griind, when money is offered, he has no idea how to manage it.

Growing Up: As a third child, Kos’s life was offered as tribute to Sa’Inu. He grew up in the Dragon Temple, cared for by monks and nuns. As any child raised by a community of learned people, Kos was precocious.

Education: In the monastery, Kos received a well-rounded education that focused mainly on the teaching of The Dragon as a path to Sa’Inu. He learned the art of meditation and mastery of his physical form. He was taught philosophy, and taught to be always humble and to serve the world – never to expect the world to serve him.

Skills, Talents: Kos developed the same skill in the Dance of the Dragon as all Dragon Monks. He also developed a skill in woodcarving.
